1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using ampee, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.

2. What ampee does

ampee connects to your electric vehicle, solar energy system, and (optionally) a smart charger to automatically adjust your vehicle's charge rate based on available solar surplus, your rate plan, and the settings you configure. You remain solely responsible for your vehicle, charging equipment, home electrical system, and electricity usage.

3. Your account

You authenticate via Tesla, Google, or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. ampee issues its own session token — do not share it.

4. Vehicle & charger control

ampee sends charging commands — including start/stop and charge-rate changes — to your vehicle through the Tesla Fleet API or your vehicle brand's API, and to your smart charger over OCPP where connected. While we operate carefully and within the limits you set, we do not guarantee any specific charge level, charge rate, timing, cost, or savings. Always verify your vehicle's and charger's state in their own apps. You are responsible for setting limits (such as maximum amperage) appropriate to your equipment and electrical circuit.

5. Solar & energy data

ampee reads data from your solar inverter, energy monitor, home battery, or Tesla energy site to estimate available surplus. We do not change your inverter or battery settings. Savings and energy figures are estimates based on your rate plan and available data, and are not guarantees.

6. Subscriptions & billing

ampee is currently free during an open beta — there is no charge and no plan required to use it. The terms in this section apply only if and when paid plans are introduced, which we will announce in advance.

When offered, ampee is a paid subscription, with pricing that may vary by the number of connected vehicles. Subscriptions purchased on the web are billed through Stripe; subscriptions purchased in the iOS app are billed through your Apple account. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time — through ampee for web subscriptions, or through your Apple account settings for in-app purchases — and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, or by Apple's policies for in-app purchases, payments are non-refundable. We may offer free trials, beta access, or complimentary plans at our discretion, and may change pricing prospectively with notice.

7. Third-party services

ampee depends on third-party services, including Tesla and other vehicle APIs, inverter and energy-monitor providers, and payment processors. These services may change, limit, or discontinue access at any time, which can affect or interrupt ampee's functionality. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services.

8. Acceptable use

You agree to use ampee only with vehicles, chargers, and energy accounts you own or are authorized to control, and not to misuse, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service.

9. No warranties

ampee is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties regarding uptime, accuracy of solar, rate, or savings calculations, or compatibility with your specific hardware.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ampee is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any damages arising from use of the service — including but not limited to vehicle or equipment damage, missed or unwanted charging, electrical issues, or incorrect energy or savings calculations.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
